Set up a real conversation
Keep this board available during ordinary personal-space and activity decisions. Listen to the teen’s own limits.
Words to have nearby
- I do not want that
- Ask before touching me
- Do not touch my device
- I need personal space
- I want privacy
The board also keeps yes, no, help and stop nearby. Use these messages for real choices and responses, without requiring a particular button as the correct answer.
One way to join in
You could model “Stop” when it fits your own meaning, then leave time for the other person’s idea. Respond to their chosen message, gesture or other communication, including a refusal or a different plan.
Try another version
Discuss how to express a boundary in a group chat or shared space.
Make it fit the communicator
Choose a comfortable screen position and button size. Keep their usual vocabulary available alongside the activity. A person can participate by speaking, pointing, looking, signing or using another established access method. The browser board offers direct touch or click; it does not provide a complete individualized access setup.
The original page is labeled Device-test draft. Before adding a native file to an everyday device, back up the existing vocabulary and check the imported pictures, speech and navigation separately. See the import guide.
